Sophia Barrett is a stage manager and lighting designer working Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. She first fell in love with theatre while working on Lakespeare’s As You Like It (2022) and is thrilled to be back for another season of Shakespeare by the Lakes. 

 

Since her first production in 2022, Sophia has been stage managing productions for Chaika Theatre and Free Rain Theatre over at ACT Hub. She’s incredibly proud of all of the 8 productions she has done at ACT Hub, especially Karen Vickery’s adaptation of Seagull (2024) where she was not only stage manager but tried lighting design for the first time. 

 

Other highlights of her career include Dogfight (Dramatic Productions, 2023) Lord of the Flies (Canberra Rep, 2024) and of course Lakespeare’s Henry V. 

 

She is excited for her next project, House of Bernarda Alba (Chaika Theatre) opening March 19th  which she will be stage managing and lighting designing for.
